Do something that scares me

To celebrate my 29th birthday, I extended my birthday celebrations into a whole week, not sure how I will top it next year. We spent three days in Newquay Cornwall having a little break. We stayed at Fistral Beach Hotel and Spa, which was lovely, we decided to upgrade to a sea view room and it did not disappoint. If you happen to be in Newquay and looking for somewhere to stay I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially as the spa facilities are an added bonus at hotel in such a great location. It really is worth the extra for a sea view! With my list at the ready and a trip to Fistral beach in progress it......

30 things before 30

Last Sunday I turned 29. Normally age does not matter to me but for some reason turning 29 did. If I am honest I had thought it about it so much that I spent most of being 28 thinking I was 29, my issue being the dread of turning the big 3-0! I am quite aware that I have spent a lot of my twenties being sensible, buying houses, working hard (working multiple jobs for most of it) and I don’t want to hit my thirties and think there was stuff I should of done in “my youth”. With this in mind I have set myself a task for the last year in my twenties, I have wrote a......

REVIEW: SUNSHINE FESTIVAL

REVIEW: SUNSHINE FESTIVAL

August bank holiday and Sunshine Festival tends to signify the end of the summer for me and boy didn’t it go fast this year. Sunshine Festival is hosted on Fish Meadow, a massive riverside field about 2 minute walk from our house so I love this festival particularly because I can enjoy the comfort of my own bed, I am not one for camping! In its seventh year Sunshine Festival dubs itself the festival “for every generation” hosting a range of performers. As ever it boasted an enviable line up to suit all ages across a number of stages including several tribute bands, I had a great time rocking out to Counterfeit Quo with my dad. Weather on the......

Review: The Jockey Inn, Baughton

After reopening early last year after a lengthy refurbishment I have been keen to visit The Jockey and it didn’t disappoint. The Jockey closed several years ago and since lay empty until the current owners spent three years renovating the place, into a trendy, relaxed destination pub. A few months ago we decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner out, it was a Saturday night and it was all a bit last minute so I called round all the local places where I enjoy to find they were fully booked before my mum suggested I try The Jockey, By this point I had half given up on the idea of eating out but I was advised that the......

Back to the gym...

Back to the gym…

Tonight I headed back to the gym for the first time in nearly 12months and oh my wasn’t it hard work. I have always enjoyed going to the gym but I am not gym crazy. I struggle to get the motivation to stick to a regular gym routine so I have made a promise to myself as my other half works away a lot, that on any evenings when he is away I will head to the gym. What makes going to the gym even harder now we have moved is that if I am heading there after work I have to drive past my house to get there so I figured if I commit to going when the......

It’s all change…!

Wow how is it April already? It has been the busiest few months ever and unfortunately I have been pretty quiet on the blog front, other things have had to take priority but I am now really excited to get blogging again! Over the last couple of months a lot has changed, I have started a new job and we have finally moved house, into the house we have spent the last three years renovating which has been pretty exciting. I am really enjoying my new job, especially as I now get every Friday afternoon off. It makes up for working six days a week or as the other half likes to regularly point out I now only work......

The Tower Over London

Life has been pretty hectic recently and I’ve been really feeling the strain so as my other was planning a trip to an exhibition in London last week I decided to use it as an excuse for a few days away. We went to the exhibition on Tuesday morning so we had the rest of the day free to enjoy ourselves and decided to take a trip to Tower Brige. My other half used to live in London and when we first met we lived just outside London and spent a large amount of our time in the city however we rarely took advantage of the abundance of tourist attractions. In advance of our trip we actually exchanged some......
