Time to extract the nutrients

by admin
As many people know I have got in to the routine of making a smoothie every morning, until now I have been using a hand blender and although it is a very good one it does seem to struggle to keep up. After reading about all the hype online about Nutribullets I decided to treat myself to one for an Easter present and so far I love it.
I am hoping that the simplicity of this product will make it easier to combine more smoothies into my diet and get some of these extra pounds shifted, that’s the plan anyway and if nothing else I do love smoothies. As smoothie makers go this doesn’t come cheap, retailing for £99.99 but this a different type of smoothie maker. The manufacturers describe it as an “extractor”, blending the ingredients into a very fine smoothie. The benefits of this product compared to a juicer is that the fruit and vegetables remain whole, whereas a juicer removes the fibre; from my experience juicers are a hassle to clean… I had one a few years ago and ended up giving it to my friend.
Whats in the box?
You get everything you need to get started smoothie making, this includes three cups (one big and two small), two blending attachments (extractor and miller) as well as the electrical unit and some leaflets with recipe ideas. All the components feel well made and easy to assemble, the recipe book has some really great ideas to get started with.
The first smoothie I made was spinach, banana, blueberry and raspberry; to make the smoothie you place all the ingredients in a cup, top up to the max line with water, screw on the extractor blade, turn over and blend for about 10 seconds. It couldn’t easier and tastes great.
As I continue to use the nutribullet I will keep you updated and will let you know its impact on my weight loss challenge.
