Wild City Eating

Last month I was down in London with the other half, he was down there with work but I tagged a long for a bit of a jolly. Unfortunately he is very boring when it comes to food but I managed to persuade him (reluctantly) to take me to Wild Food Café in Covent Garden for a spot of lunch. Since Natasha Corbett (Honestly Healthy) posted a photo of one of their smoothies on instagram back in march I have been obsessively planning a trip and it did not disappoint.

The place is brilliantly quirky, with big tables where you sit alongside other diners and big balcony style windows which they throw open on sunny days. We were warmly welcomed and all of the staff seemed to really know their stuff and genuinely love the approach of the café.

We ordered the hummus and cracker salad and mushrooms on toast to share; both were lovely, fresh, wholesome and very filling. The icing on the cake really was the “Forgotten Ecstasy” smoothie this was to die for, make up of raw cacao and coconut milk amongst other ingredients. I have tried to make smoothies several times with raw cacao but never got even slightly close to tasting this amazing, if you are in the area it is definitely worth a trip if only for one of these smoothies.
Since our visit last month Wild Food Café has undergone a major relaunch both of the menu and refurbishment of the café. I am keen to visit again and try out their new menu, I have made sure to check the menu and they are still serving the Forgotten Ecstasy smoothie.
